Many families that enjoy a pleasant Branson apartment living like to go camping for relaxation and spend some good bonding time with the kids. But with the winter weather and freezing temperatures outside, it isn’t very realistic to enjoy fun summer activities.

But even if the weather is chilly outside, don’t worry, as some of these camping tips will help allow you and your kids to enjoy a camping experience without even having to leave your apartment.

Camping in your apartment

Camping in your apartment can be enjoyed in many ways, such as eating special food, and connecting with friends and relatives. All these things can be done even if you’re camping out in your living room. This is especially great to enjoy if you have kids. You can create a memorable night that will compare to your unforgettable outdoor adventures.

To start experiencing indoor camping in a wonderful Branson apartment living:

1.       Think first of clearing the space in your living room where you can comfortably place your tent.

2.       Make sure you have plenty of cozy pillows and blankets to make your camping experience extra opulent.

3.       If a tent is not available, try making a blanket fort or roll out the sleeping bags.

You can even roast hotdogs and marshmallows over the flame of your gas stove, just as you might want to feel an actual campfire. You can also cook delicious camping recipes that are easy to make at home with just a few adjustments.

Let everyone in the family turn off screens and gadgets and focus on long-planned indoor camping activities together. Perhaps you turn off the lights and talk about ghost stories, play cards, or enjoy board games inside the tent.

Set up the tent

It is easy to set up the tent in any area of your apartment, such as the dining room, living room, or even in your bedroom if there’s enough space. If you can’t set up a tent, then build it using tables, chairs, blankets, and other furniture. You don’t have to do it perfectly, but having a tent will make your camping experience seem more exciting.

Decorate it

Decorating your tent is one of the most exciting things to do in your apartment. You can start gathering camping supplies, like lanterns, sleeping bags, or stools to make it look like a campsite. Use a projector that can create imaginary stars to your ceiling, switch the lights off for that night-time effect, or light a candle to imitate the flickers of a campfire.

Prepare camping food

If you can’t prepare a meal cooked over a fire, look for some decent substitutes. Make some great s’mores in a microwave, fry some hot dogs, make some soup, or munch on trail mix to eat in your tent. You may want to keep this list of fun snacks to use for a camping-themed party in the future.

Play nature sounds

Make use of your sound system, and if you don’t have one, you can use your laptop and search for some soft nature sounds on YouTube and listen all night long. You can look for sounds from different environments, like the rainforest, the desert, the savanna and the swamps with chirping sounds of birds, and see if your kids can identify the unique sounds. Plus, everyone in that indoor campsite can have a sound sleep when serenaded by the fascinating sounds of tweeting birds.

Learn about the outdoors

The whole family might not be able to go out on a nature walk through wooded areas, but that doesn’t mean you can’t teach your kids great lessons about the outdoors. You can let them listen to animal sounds and let them identify if they are birds, frogs, or any other critters.

You can also teach your kids about camping essentials, fire safety, how you should leave nothing except your footprints when you leave and the importance of protecting the outdoors. Whatever the ages of your kids, there is always a way to incorporate learning activities into your indoor camping experience.

Play camping games

When you’re camping, it’s always a fun idea to include camping games such as playing cards. Setting up a lantern in the tent, listening to some fireside sounds and spending time bonding with family and friends with a few games is an entertaining and memorable way to spend   around the campfire with some games.

While many of us enjoy Branson apartment living but still want the feeling of the outdoors during the cold season, indoor camping is a great way to beat the winter blues and to create a change of pace.
