If you lease an apartment, you have the advantage of finding a new place to live fairly quickly, should you decide the current apartment does not fit your lifestyle anymore. The reasons for transferring to another location can vary. Maybe you want to live near your workplace or you might want to relocate to the city suburbs.

No matter what your reason is, below are some of the signs telling you it’s time to move.

Rent Payment Has Increased

An increase in your monthly rent payment is one of the most common reasons for renters to look for a new apartment. If you can no longer afford the rent or you’re just thinking of saving a few dollars each month, it might be the right time for you to move to another place somewhere else.

While the rental rates normally increase after you have completed the lease agreement for a specified period, the renewal period is always the time that you will decide whether you want to stay or if you want to move to a place with lower rent.

Need to Move to a Larger Space

Another sign telling you it’s time to move is that you have outgrown the space. Maybe you have acquired many things these last few years, including clothes and furniture. Perhaps you plan to set up a new home office, a playroom for your kids, or an entertainment room for the whole family. When you move to a bigger apartment, you have more flexibility and options to better suit your current needs.

Need to Find a New Place Closer To A New Job

If you have just found a new job and are looking to reduce your commute time, you may need to move to a new home closer to where you work. Even though moving can be a tough job, it can make your life easier once you have gotten familiar with all the things around the new area. One of the most common reasons why most renters move to a new place is because they want to be near their workplace.

Breakup or Divorce Happened

Experiencing a breakup or a divorce is also one of the reasons why a renter may decide to move to a new place. If you and your partner have decided you are no longer compatible and have decided to separate, you’ll both probably need to find your own new living space.

Found a New Relationship

If you’ve been dating someone for a long period of time and you have made the decision that you are ready to live together, it may be time to move to a new place. Below you will learn some tips on moving to a new place with your significant other.

Time to move to a new neighborhood

When you first moved into your current neighborhood, you may have clashed with your new neighbors, or found that you did not have very much in common with them. You may decide to look for another area where you will both be more comfortable living. No matter what the reason is, you might prefer to move to another neighborhood that is closer to the local nightlife, if you love to go out with your partner or friends in the evening.

You'd Like To Live In A Newer Home

You may decide to consider moving to a new home if you both have lived in an older structure for a long time. You may be interested in trying something new, or living in a place that has newer features. Living in a brand-new living space might reinvigorate both of you.

When to Move

The ideal time to find a new home is between the first week of April until September, when most inventory is easily available and will allow you to have the largest selection of units at your disposal. The leasing season peak is in June and July.

Moving to a new house could be the most exciting, but there are a lot of different factors to consider. Watch for the signs telling you it’s time to move and have confidence that you will move at the right time and find the new apartment that you are looking for.
