Christmas tree decorations in most Branson apartments look dazzling and beautiful but taking them down at the end of the holiday season is a daunting task.

If you think it’s dreadful to take down your Christmas lights, it’s probably due to the multiple ornaments and lights you hang and the crossing strands that form a wide net that’s nearly impossible to remove. To help guide you in putting lights on the Christmas tree, check out these simple tips.

The Size and Type of Christmas Tree

As you enjoy a fantastic Branson apartment living during the holiday season, you may want to make your Christmas tree the focal point in your living room. But you don’t have to overdo it. A Christmas tree that’s decorated with many ornaments can be overbearing, while a tree without enough ornaments will seem scant. First, evaluate the tree that you want: is it a live tree or an artificial one.

Artificial trees come in a variety of colors such as green, white, blue, or pink and require less lighting. However, a real tree will require more lights than a dark-colored artificial tree, as it will slowly thin out as the holidays progress. Whatever tree you have chosen, you have to put extra strands to make it look beautiful all season long.

On average, you should have around 100 lights for each foot of a tree to make sure the lighting is even. For example, a four-foot tree should have about 400 mini lights or 300 5mm LEDs; a six-foot tree should have about 600 mini lights, or 450 5mm LEDs; an eight-foot tree should have 800 mini lights, or 600 5mm LEDs. Based on the size of your tree, your lights will be dimmed by the needles and ornaments. It’s a good idea to use a few extra to make the lights shine through.

The Type of Light Bulbs

The type of light bulbs can have an impact on your Christmas tree. If you mix larger bulbs with smaller ones, the brighter ones will draw the eye to focal points in the tree, while the smaller ones will fleck it with a lovely glow that makes it beautiful from afar. Larger bulbs are used to attract the attention of viewers so that they will be drawn to the most lustrous portion of the tree, while the smaller lights will trick the eye into thinking every portion is perfect.

Your Light Hanging Strategy

Evaluate the appearance of your tree and see how the branches lay. You lay more lights on the thicker branches of your tree, while for the thinner ones, wrap them up in layers. This gives the impression of even coverage. You want the light strands to become visible, and you don’t want them to sit too deep in the tree, letting the ornaments obstruct the lighting.

Your Strategy for Ornament Placement

If you place so many ornaments in your Christmas tree, it can invite more attention, but it can reduce the luster of your lighting. If you want your Christmas tree to be a busy, fully loaded tree, try going for white lights instead of colored so it won’t create a disorganized and cluttered look. If you’re fussy with ornaments, then you can go for either colored or white lights. If you’re on the daring side, mix colored and white lights for a unique appearance.

How to put lights in the right way on your Christmas tree

The first thing to do is to figure out how many lights you need for your Christmas tree. The general rule is to use an average of 100 lights for every foot of a tree, but you can add more lights based on your preference. Before you begin, plug in the lights to check if all the bulbs are working. Leave them lit, setting them aside while you work to see how they look once installed on the tree, and checking the dark spots.

Decide how you are going to wrap the lights: some decorators prefer the vertical method. You’ll divide the tree vertically into three sections (from trunk to tip) and wrap the lights by section. Starting at the bottom, weave each string in and out of the branches, to the top of the tree, and back.

Hanging a Christmas tree light in a horizontal position is the more conventional method. From the bottom, string your lights around and through the tree in a random fashion. Just avoid any obvious pattern or spiral, and attach the lights without exerting much effort. If your lights aren’t exactly hung where you want them, wrap a little floral wire around the cord and branch to hold it in place.

Putting lights on a Christmas tree is an exciting thing to do, especially if you enjoy Branson apartment living. When you follow these simple tips, you can figure out pretty quickly that hanging lights on a Christmas tree is a pretty easy task.
